Amazon Web Services Launches Competition For Local Government Apps

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services has launched a new effort to spur the development of cloud-based applications, to help local governments. Amazon said its new, City on a cloud Innovation Challenge will award teams which create projects--which, naturally, use AWS--which use the cloud for the benefit of citizens of local governments. Amazon said it will offer up $50,000 in AWS credits to the top projects in the competition, which has a deadline of May 12th, 2014.
