Amazon Web Services In Wind Energy Deal

Seattle-based Amazon Web Services said today that it has entered into a deal to use a wind farm to supply its data centers with power, via a 150 megawatt wind farm in Indiana. According to AWS, the new wind farm will be called Amazon Web Services Wind Farm (Fowler Ridge), and is expected to start generating approximately 500,000 megawatt hours of wind power annually, starting as early as January 2016. Amazon Web Services said the move is part of its effort to reach 100 percent renewable energy usage on AWS.
