Amazon Launches Giant Wind Farm In Texas

Seattle-based Amazon has launched a giant wind farm in Texas, the Amazon Wind Farm Texas, which it says will produce enough energy to power over 330,000 homes annually. Amazon says the wind farm--its largest yet--will generate over 1,000,000 MWh of clean energy each year. The wind farm is located in the middle of Texas, South of Lubbock and East of Abilene, in Scurry County. Amazon said the Amazon Wind Farm Texas is built, owned, and operated by Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE). Amaazon says the new farm has more than 100 turbines. The energy project brings Amazon's total number of wind and solar projects across the U.S. to 18, with plans for 35 more.
