Digimarc Powering Shazam's New Visual Recognition Features

Beaverton, Oregon-based Digimarc announced today that it is behind a new, visual recognition feature that was just launched by Shazam. Shazam said Thursday that it has launched a new product, which lets users point their mobile phone cameras as posters, newspapers, ads, and other printed media and instantly connect to brands and artists. Shazam said that waving a phone over any item with a Shazam camera logo or a QR code will link users special offers, content, and more. Those features were actually all developed in Oregon at Digimarc, which licenses its visual recognition technology to others. Financial details of the win were not announced.
