Amazon Expands In Houston, Virginia

Amazon.com is further expanding its network of fulfillment centers, with a new center in Houston, Texas, and another in Clear Brook, Virginia. Amazon said the Houston fulfillment center will employ 1,000, who will pick, pack and ship larger-sized customer items, such as music equipment, sports gear, and electronics. The Virginia facility is expected to employ another 1,000 employees, shipping such big items as big-screen televisions, kayaks and patio furniture. The Virginia facility is the fourth in that state for Amazon, and the Texas facility is the tenth in that state.
