Socrata Acquired By Tyler Technologies

Seattle-based Socrata, the developer of cloud-based software used for accessing government and public data which is led by Kevin Merritt, has been acquired by Tyler Technologies, a big developer of government software. Financial detail sof the acquisition were not announced, however, Tyler said that Socrata had approximately $25M in revenues for its most recent fiscal year. Socrata was venture backed by Frazier Technology Ventures, Morgenthaler Ventures, OpenView Venture Partners and Sapphire Ventures.
