Intellicheck Gets Restaurant Win With Bar Verification App

College and high school students with a fake ID might think twice in Arkansas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The smartphone-based, ID-checking app from Port Townsend, Washington-based Intellicheck Mobilisa--called barZapp--has been selected by an un-named Texas restaurant chain, to help them combat underage drinking at their locations across those states, Intellicheck announced yesterday. Intellicheck said that the 16 location restaurant chain has begun using its smartphone app to check driver's licenses, capturing names, birthdates, and other information. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Intellicheck's barZapp app runs on btoh Android and iOS. The company's app is one of a number of mobile efforts for the company, which has its roots in developing identification checking systems for government agencies.
