San Antonio Drops Bid For New Amazon Headquarters

The city and county of San Antonio, Texas has withdrawn its efforts to woo Amazon.com, according to the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation on Thursday. In a statement, the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation said submitting a bid like requested from Amazo is "not our style". Amazon.com is in the midst of a big effort to select what it calls "Amazon HQ2", a new headquarters location which it will run in conjunction with its existing headquarters in Seattle. That effort has drawn bids from cities across the United States who are eager to gain the employment benefits of such a dominant tech player.
