Coinstar Ties Into First Data

Bellevue, Washington-based Coinstar announced today that the firm has added a new direct deposit service for bank and credit union customers. The new service leverages First Data's STAR network for transfers. The firm, which provides self-service coin counting machines, said that its new Coinstar Direct Coin deposit service will allow customers to electronically transfer coin into personal accounts. The new service is specifically designed to work with the firm's Madison coin-counting kiosk, which it sells to retail financial instutition branches. The new service will be available in the first half of 2007.
