Isilon Partners With Storage Compression Firm

Seattle-based Isilon Systems, a developer of network attached storage products, said yesterday that the firm has partnered with storage software firm Storwize. According to the firms, they have integrated a storage solution based on Isilon's NAs products and Storwize's STN-600 appliance, which compresses data stored on systems in real time. The two said the collaboration would increase usable storage capacity for the firms' customers by up to 10x. Financial details of the effort were not disclosed.
