Seattle-based Amazon.com and the Governor of Tennessee, Bill Haslam, announced this morning that Amazon plans to open two new fulfillment centers in Tennessee. According to the two, the move will create over 1,300 new jobs in that state. Amazon will invest $135M in the state as part of the effort. Amazon already has centers in Wilson, Hamilton, and Bradley Counties in Tennessee, and the move will bring the number of employees in that state to over 3,300. Amazon said it expects to complete the new facilities by next fall.
