Urban Airship: 5 Billion Notifications, New CFO

Portland-based Urban Airship, the developer of mobile notification software for the iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry, said today that it has racked up its 5 billionth mobile message. The service--which is used by app developers to handle real time alerts in their apps--said the 5 billionth message came within 15 months, a fivefold increase in the use of its services since September of 2010. Separately, the firm said it has hired Dylan Anderson as CFO, VP of Finance, and Corporate Secretary at the firm; Anderson was most recently at Max-Viz, inc.
