Itron Wins UK Water Firm

Liberty Lake-based Itron, the maker of smart utility meters, said today that it has signed on water and wastewater utility Severn Trent Water, based in the UK. Itron said that Severn Trent Water is implementing an automated meter reading solution developed by the firm, which includes up to 400,000 residential water meters installed by 2013. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Itron said the win included residential water meters equipped with its EverBlue AMR module, plus handheld units and its MV-RS meter reading software.
