Itron Wins Cleveland Water Utility

Liberty Lake, Washington-based Itron, a maker of smart meters, reported today that it has signed the Cleveland Division of Water. Itron said that the utility--which it says is one of the country's largest--will deploy its smart water meters and its fixed-network based system to 425,000 water connections. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Itron's systems will be used to collect hourly, water usage data from customers.
