Redfin Dissects Scouting Report Launch

The launch of a new service by Redfin to help clients learn more about their real estate agents, via a "Scouting Report", appears to not have gone as smoothly as hoped, according to a blog post by the firm's CEO, Glenn Kelman, Monday. In the post, Kelman said that he wants to "apologize for our mistakes" in the launch, which included miscalculations of how long a property had been on market; wrong brokerage assignments for agents in Phoenix; lack of data on past sales in some markets; not to mention licensing issues in such areas as Washington DC, San Francisco, and Sacramento. Redfin said that it is "we are sorry for all the ways we screwed up in presenting data."
