Elemental Technologies Wins Nordic Company

Portland-based Elemental Technologies, which develops hardware which encodes video streams in real time, reports that it has signed up a Nordic television and video streaming service, Viaplay. Elemental said its video processing is powering the delivery of nearly 40 live channels and thousands of hours of premium, library content for Viaplay. Viaplay provides streaming of television shows, movies, and sporting events. Financial impact of the deal was not announced. Elemental is venture backed by the Alliance of Angels, Bend Venture Conference, Citrix, General Catalyst Partners, In-Q-Tel, Norwest Venture Partners, Oregon Investment Fund, Pixelworks, Steamboat Ventures, and Voyager Capital.
