Mentor Takes On 3D TV Design

Wilsonville, Oregon-based Mentor Graphics, the developer of system verification and EDA software and hardware, reports this morning that it has launched a new product aimed at verification of 3D TV based products. Mentor said that its new platform allows designers to develop and test their software against multiple, 3D TV formats. Pricing on the new offering was not disclosed. Mentor said the new test tools include support for HDMI, and uses the firm's Veloce family of emulators to provide verifications that is "thousands of times faster" than software simulations. Pricing on the new product was not announced.
